Art Therapy
Explore creativity and express emotions through art therapy
Service Description
Art Therapy can provide a unique vehicle for non- verbal processing and transformation of adverse or traumatic life experiences. The process of making art within a therapeutic relationship opens us to a new way of exploring issues and problem solving. No art skills are needed and it doesn’t matter what the art looks like, as we focus on the process ( the doing) rather than the final form. The term Art Psychotherapy implies a deeper exploration of psychological aspects to support the clients understanding and self – awareness. Words cannot always express what we are feeling. The process of making art within a therapeutic relationship open us to a new way of problem solving or exploring issues. Absolutely no artistic skills are needed, as it focuses on the process not the final result. It doesn’t matter what the art looks like. There is no judgement, only curiosity, as you engage with whatever materials you choose to work with. You will learn new ways to actively explore your emotions and challenges, that pay attention to the whole self : body, mind and spirit, in imaginative and creative ways - to bring insights and a deeper “knowing”.
